Descripció
Lift External Link Notice adds a configurable leaving-site notice for external links. It is designed for websites that need a clear outbound-link disclosure, including financial institutions, healthcare organizations, associations, and other compliance-sensitive sites.
The plugin does not require Elementor, Elementor Pro, popup builders, custom link classes, React, or build tooling. Once activated, it watches normal frontend links, ignores same-domain links, skips whitelisted domains or URLs, and shows a modal notice before the visitor continues to an external site.
Features:
- Intercepts normal external link clicks on the frontend.
- Ignores same-domain, hash, empty, javascript, mailto, tel, admin, and editor links.
- Optional whitelist for trusted domains or full URLs.
- Optional whitelist for subdomains beneath the configured site host.
- Continue and cancel button labels can be edited.
- Empty button labels hide that button.
- Overlay, modal, text, title, button, and hover colors.
- Font family selector.
- Pixel-based style controls for modal width, spacing, typography, padding, gaps, and border radius.
- Global responsive controls with optional desktop, tablet, and mobile overrides.
- Live desktop, tablet, and mobile preview in the WordPress admin.
- Overlay click and Escape-key closing options.
- No visitor tracking and no external services.
- Master enable/disable toggle for turning the notice on or off without deactivating the plugin.

PMF
-
Does this require Elementor?
-
No. This is a standalone WordPress plugin and works without Elementor.
-
Does this use a popup builder?
-
No. The notice modal is built into the plugin and configured from a normal WordPress settings page.
-
Will this affect internal links?
-
No. Same-domain links are ignored. You can also whitelist trusted external domains or full URLs.
-
Will this always show for external links?
-
The notice handles normal link clicks and keyboard activation when JavaScript is enabled. Internal links, trusted entries, downloads, and non-web protocols are skipped. Browser actions such as middle-click, context-menu opening, directly entering a URL, and navigation by other scripts are outside this click handler. This plugin does not guarantee legal or regulatory compliance.
-
Which subdomains are trusted?
-
With subdomain trust enabled, only descendants of the configured site host are trusted, ignoring its leading www prefix. For example, a site at tenant.example.com trusts child.tenant.example.com, but sibling.example.com needs an explicit whitelist entry. Full URL entries also match the scheme and port.
-
Does this plugin contact external services or track visitors?
-
No. The plugin does not send visitor data to external services and does not track visitors.
