Business Listing is a simple, lightweight plugin for displaying a filterable directory of businesses on your WordPress website. Visitors can browse all listings or narrow them down by region and category with a single click with no page reload required. Originally built for a florist website, it’s flexible enough for any organization that needs to showcase a collection of businesses, members, posts or something else in a clean, visual format. The businesses are in boxes which show an image, the business name, city and state.
While it was designed for businesses we found that it can be used for other things like a portfolio with other details in the city and state fields.

How It Works
Add your businesses through the WordPress admin — each listing gets a name, image, city, state, website link, category, and region. Drop the shortcode anywhere on your site and visitors immediately see a visual grid of listings they can filtered by region and category. Both the region label and category label are fully customizable to fit your organization’s terminology.

Options
There are no options in the shortcode, all settings are on the plugin’s options page. You can show/hide region and category buttons and the name for the regions button.

Can this be used for other things besides businesses?

- Yes, we actually use it for showing our portfolio with the state & city field repurposed for other info.

Is there a limit to the number of businesses added?

- There is not a limit, so use your judgment so it does not overload the pages it is on.

- Right now you have to override the colors by CSS. In a future version it will be in the options.

Does it work with the block editor (Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi)?

- There are no Gutenberg, Elementor or Divi specific blocks, but you can use the shortcode in a text block.

Can listings link to pages on my own site instead of external websites?

- Yes, our portfolio page uses it to link to individual posts. Just enter the full page URL.
